Kerry King (Slayer) Premieres New Song “Idle Hands”

Slayer guitarist Kerry King has premiered a new song titled “Idle Hands.” This track is from his new album “From Hell I Rise,” which will be released on May 17. King recorded that effort with vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head), drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), and bassist Kyle Sanders (HELLYEAH).

King told Rolling Stone the following about the track, which originated from Slayer‘s “Repentless“ sessions:

“It was finished, we recorded it. I wasn’t happy with the performance part of it, so I was like, ‘All right, I’ll put this in my back pocket until the next Slayer record.’ And that didn’t happen, so it’s now on my record.”

He continued:

“‘Idle Hands‘ are what I’ve been doing the last four years. That and ‘From Hell I Rise‘ have been my frame of mind in the last four-and-a-half years.”

King also added the following about the album:

“If you’ve ever liked any Slayer throughout any part of our history, there’s something on this record that you’ll get into, be it classic punk, fast punk, thrash, or just plain heavy metal.

Even with a record in the can, I’ve still got so many songs that need to be finished. This is what I know how to do…number one being music, number two being metal. It’s been a part of my life for 40 years, and I’m nowhere near being done.”
