Sammy Hagar & The Circle To Release “Lockdown 2020” In January

Sammy Hagar & The Circle have announced a new album titled “Lockdown 2020.” The effort will be released on January 8 and it will feature mostly covers that were tracked during the band’s “Lockdown Sessions.” Fans that pre-order the album will receive the group’s cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” as an instant-grat track. Notably, all proceeds from that single will be donated to food banks nationwide.

Hagar commented:

“When we first start doing these lockdown sessions, it was only meant to stay in touch with the fans until we could get back out on the road again. But as the weeks and months drew on, it also became a fun way to keep the band together, musically and creatively.”

He also added the following about “Heroes,” which was the last track that the band recorded for the album:

“With the addition of ‘Heroes’, it made sense to help those who are struggling from the effects of COVID-19. It probably wouldn’t have happened without it.”
