Spylacopa (Candiria) Premiere Video For Cover Of Ween’s “Baby Bitch”

Spylacopa have premiered a new video for their cover of Ween’s “Baby Bitch.” The track, which John LaMacchia (Candiria) recorded with Michael Macivor (Candiria), Sabrina Ellie, and Frank Godla (Meek Is Murder), can be purchased on Bandcamp. The single will benefit the Innocence Project.

LaMacchia commented:

“‘Baby Bitch‘ is not only my favorite Ween song of all time it is also one of my all time favorite break up songs. It’s crude and melancholy but there’s a simple beauty to the chord progression and vocal melody that gets me every time.”

“As far as The Innocence Project goes it is just something that Sabrina, Mike, Frank and I all feel very strongly about. I personally couldn’t imagine being sent to prison for a crime that I did not commit. It’s the stuff that nightmares are made of. The Innocence Project helps the wrongfully convicted using DNA testing. It’s such a worthy cause. Please donate!”

Spylacopa (Candiria) Premiere “It’s All Over Now” Music Video

Candiria’s John LaMacchia has shared a new song, titled “It’s All Over Now,” from his Spylacopa project. The track features Sabrina Ellie and a video for it can be found below:

LaMacchia commented:

“I wrote this song several years ago at the end of a long relationship that kept dragging on. I’m glad the song is finally seeing the light of day. I must give a good amount of credit to vocalist Sabrina Ellie who sings harmony on the song. She really pushed me to get this song out and she also came up with the concept and style of the video, which I shot and edited myself.

The editing process was quite an undertaking. I spent countless hours slicing tiny fragments of video so that the end result has a strobe-light effect. I should also mention the song was mixed by Mario Quintero of the band Spotlights. He brought out a heaviness in the song that I didn’t know was there. It’s the perfect fit in my humble opinion.”

Spylacopa (Candiria) Premiere New Song “Part I – Minauros”

Candiria guitarist John LaMacchia has shared a new song from his Spylacopa project called “Part I – Minauros.” This track is from his new album “Beneath The Earth That Lies Beneath The Sea,” which will be released on May 14. LaMacchia said the following about the effort:

“The title of the album came to me first. This looming question of what exists beneath the earth that lies at the bottom of the deepest ocean. It’s a very frightening thought to me and you can certainly hear that in the music. On the contrary it’s fascinating to think how peaceful it might be. This sacred place, unspoiled by humanity. Once I had the title I just kept creating music with it in mind and I wound up with this body of work.”
