Slaughter To Prevail have premiered a new video for their new song “1984.” You can check that out below. Aleksandr “Alex Terrible” Shikolai commented:
“This song I wrote when war got started. I can’t stay silent about all this situation. We made a simple video clip just to say what we think about the war and wanted to post it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out quickly. This song is not the usual. It’s not like us. But this is the cry of my soul. War is always a huge tragedy for everyone. Please stop the violence and this war. I know many of you wanted to hear something different from us. But right now we want do it this way and sounds like that. This is our message. I am from Russia. I love my country, I love our fans from there and I can’t believe it goes so far from 2014. God save us all. Stay human.”
Slaughter To Prevail’s Alex Terrible has shared a new video message in which he condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The frontman said the following:
“I’m making an official statement on behalf of the whole band, as the leader. I’m Alex Terrible and I play with Slaughter To Prevail, vocalist. We play deathcore/death metal and showing the guns and weapons and tanks in our video clips, and so on. Despite this fact, we against the war. We against any war. It is so hurt us to see what is happening right now in Ukraine. We have been in Ukraine many times for shows, and our last tour finished in Ukraine. Please do not make the whole Russian people an accomplice. I wish you a beautiful, peaceful sky above your head. Thank you for your attention.”
Russia’s Slaughter To Prevail have taken to social media to denounce their homeland’s invasion of Ukraine. The band said the following:
“No to war! Our band has nothing to do with politics, we do not take sides. We are for all peaceful inhabitants of this world and for world peace. We do not accept ANY military action. We wish all of you and your loved ones, relatives and friends to stay safe and hope this nightmare ends as soon as possible.”
According to Lambgoat, Slaughter To Prevail are considering the possibility of taking legal action against Sumerian Records. Frontman Aleksandr “Alex Terrible” Shikolai revealed the news to EarzOnFire, saying that the band are “on pretty bad terms” with the label.
Shikolai reportedly said the following [translated from Russian]:
“I was absolutely happy. I guess it was around 2015 and back then we were just starting out. Man, I was in a fool’s paradise. ‘We’re gonna sign with Sumerian and everything will be hunky-dory.’ But c’mon, you gotta be f*cking smart and legally competent to be able to sign the right contracts. We had no legal advisors, we had no one. We signed everything right away and right now we are on pretty bad terms with Sumerian Records. Most likely, we will sue them in order to terminate the contract and be able to move on our own. And by no means am I saying that they are bad, so-and-so. They gave us a huge head start, but it is us who made a wrong move building a relationship like this. We didn’t give a shit then. And now we seem to have grown a little wiser and kinda woke up, you know. The issue is pending right now.”
He continued when asked if Slaughter To Prevail have received “bigger offers” from other labels:
“Yes, sure there were. But now we’re embracing the idea of working independently and earning more money by moving on our own.”
