Mindless Self Indulgence Frontman Jimmy Urine Accused Of Sexual Assault Of A Minor

According to Rolling Stone, Mindless Self Indulgence’s James Euringer (aka Jimmy Urine) has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor. An anonymous woman filed a lawsuit against the frontman in New York Supreme Court, saying that he engaged in a sexual relationship with her when she was 15 and he was 27.

The woman says the relationship took place from January 1997 to June 1999 and that Euringer “groomed and manipulated [her] into believing that his sexually assaultive behavior was not criminal and that by engaging in sexual activity with him Plaintiff was actually helping to protect younger girls from sexual assaults.” She also claimed that he took naked photos of her and made her “act like a small child, and suck her thumb, drool, and pee in her pants.” Euringer also allegedly tried to downplay their sexual relationship in public.

Rolling Stone also report that Warner Music Group, Warner Communications LLC, Elektra Entertainment Group, and the band’s ex-manager and producer Joseph Galus have been named as defendants in the suit as well. The woman accused Elektra and Galus of “negligence and aiding and abetting sexual battery, and that the two knew about and enabled Euringer’s behavior.” On top of that, the suit also says a photo of the girl was used on a band t-shirt that was developed by Elektra and that Elektra‘s A&R and Galus even witnessed Euringer engaging in a relationship with her in the studio. The following was said about that:

“With their knowledge, relationship to Euringer, and control over Euringer, his shows, his music, and at times his access to minors, Defendants had the opportunity and ability to stop Euringer’s sexual assaults, and to protect Plaintiff and others, but did not. As a result, Plaintiff has suffered humiliation, shame, and horror that she will continue to suffer for the rest of her life.”

Mindless Self Indulgence & Twiztid Members Cover Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like The Wolf”

Mindless Self Indulgence’s Jimmy Urine (aka James Euringer) and Twiztid‘s Jamie Madrox have recorded a collaborative cover of Duran Duran‘s “Hungry Like The Wolf.“ You can check that out below:

Madrox said the following:

“We toured with MSI back in 1999 on ‘The Amazing Jeckel Bros Tour‘. That’s where I originally met Jimmy and the band. Being a huge fan of Duran Duran, I’ve always wanted to cover one of their songs, and when the convo of a possible collaboration came up, I had my manager pitch him the idea. To which Jimmy responded, ‘Only if it’s ‘Hungry Like The Wolf.’’ The rest is, as they say, musical history.”

Urine added:

“MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE AND TWIZTID CAME UP IN THIS BUSINESS AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME 20 YEARS AGO, SO YOU KNOW THIS COLLABORATION HAD TO HAPPEN. IT WAS THE PROPHECY, YO LIKE FUCKING DUNE AND SHIT. JAMIE AND HIS TEAM REACHED OUT TO ME ABOUT GUESTING VOCALS ON THIS COVER, AND I WAS LIKE, ‘YEAH, I LOVE DURAN DURAN. PLUS, I AM THE PREMIER 1980S GUEST VOCALIST. I JUST DID ‘ROCK ME AMADEUS’ WITH FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY AND ‘WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES’ AND ‘WUTHERING HEIGHTS’ FOR MY OWN PROJECT EURINGER.

BUT I SAID, ‘YOU HAVE TO LET ME ADD SOME PRODUCTION TO IT BECAUSE I LOVE DOING THAT TYPE OF STUFF.’ THEY WERE LIKE, ‘HELL, YEAH,’ AND I WENT TO TOWN AND HAD A BLAST WITH VOCALS, PRODUCTION AND MIXING. I AM A HUGE DURAN DURAN FAN, HAVING COVERED ‘GIRLS ON FILM’ WITH MSI. DURAN DURAN HAVE SO MANY GOOD GODDAMN SONGS. HOW CAN YOU COVER JUST ONE?”
