Spirit Adrift Premiere “Wake Up” Music Video

Spirit Adrift have premiered a new video for their new song “Wake Up.“ This track is from the band’s new EP “Forge Your Future,“ which will be released on August 27.

Nate Garrett said the following about the song:

“‘Wake Up‘ was written at the height of the toilet paper buying frenzy. As usual, I was totally disgusted with humanity, and I needed to write about it. This song celebrates the reason we all got into metal/rock n roll in the first place. Music is a way of life that offers us freedom from the insane expectations of a sick society. While this video is our first foray into anything resembling fun or humor, it wholeheartedly delivers the sincere message of the song. TURN ON, TUNE IN, DROP OUT.”

He also added the following about the video:

“The video for ‘Wake Up‘ marks the third time we’ve worked with Guilherme Henriques, and these collaborations somehow produce better results every time. Guilherme has become a crucial contributor to how we visually express ourselves. For this video, he and I began by discussing a certain story arc from Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing comics, and our own unique vision took shape from there.”

Spirit Adrift To Release New EP “Forge Your Future” In August, Share Lyric Video For The Title Track

Spirit Adrift will be releasing a new EP titled “Forge Your Future” on August 27. The effort will feature three songs including the title track, “Wake Up,” and “Invisible Enemy.” You can find a lyric video for the title track below:

Nate Garrett commented:

“On March 1, 2020, I relocated to the woods outside of Austin, Texas. Two weeks later, everything was locked down. I turned to the thing that has helped me navigate difficult situations for most of my life: writing music. I wrote and demoed a ton of songs over the course of the pandemic.

The songs on this E.P. are the best of the bunch. Marcus, Preston, and I recorded these in March of 2021 at Homewrecker Recording Studio with Ryan Bram at the helm. Zeuss handled mixing and mastering, after lengthy discussions about Martin Birch, Tom Allom, Crowbar, and how important it is to carry forth the essence and spirit of heavy metal.

Special thanks to our friend Cody Davis for the brilliant title. These songs, and this band, represent persevering through difficult times, staying true to your innermost self, and celebrating the life-affirming power of metal. We can’t wait to see you all live and in the flesh, in the meantime we hope you enjoy the tunes.”
