Napalm Death Officially Comment On Spring Tour Cancellation

Napalm Death have officially commented on the cancellation of their spring tour with Aborted, Tombs, and WVRM. This news comes after Aborted previously confirmed that the trek was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Napalm Death said the following:

“Hi everybody,

We have been having a few enquiries via the Napalm Death channels about ticket refunds for currently scheduled gig dates – specifically in North America. There’s nothing we can directly do in terms of being able to action those, but at the same time of course we’re not a band to turn a blind eye when people need to know.

Basically we have made enquiries with our North American booker and he assures us that all currently scheduled gigs have been cancelled and he has instructed local promoters to issue refunds. What this effectively means is that you should apply for a refund at “point of purchase” – in other words, whichever channel you employed to buy any tickets. Hope this clarifies things.

Please stay safe because health and safety trumps all (no pun intended).

Love

Napalm Death“

WVRM Premiere New Song “Angel Of Assassination”

WVRM have premiered a new song titled “Angel Of Assassination.” This track is from the band’s new album “Colony Collapse,“ which will be released on April 3. Ian Nix said the following:

“‘Angel Of Assassination‘ is named after Charlotte Corday, a brutal figure from the French Revolution who assassinated Jean-Paul Marat. The song as a culmination of the entire album is trying to convey how action alone moves history forward. All the anger and indignation in the world is nothing in the face of individual and collective action. We probably had the most fun writing and recording this one. This could easily be our collective favorite song on the record.”

Aborted Confirm Cancellation Of Spring Tour With Napalm Death, Etc.

It looks like Napalm Death‘s spring tour with Aborted, Tombs, and WVRM has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Aborted confirmed the news on Facebook.

Aborted commented:

“Hey everyone,

We wanted to give you guys some good news in these dark days but unfortunately seems like nothing is spared from the Covid-19 outbreak. Due to all the measures in place (which everyone should follow, mind you), we have to cancel our upcoming tour with Napalm death, Tombs and WVRM.

We feel that we as artists have to do our part as well in urging people to help flatten the curve and take part in social distancing for a while. In the meanwhile this leaves us, along with many others, with a huge financial deficit as our tour merch was already printed, plus work visas; flights; deposits etc were already paid for and it puts us in a very sh***y situation.

We won’t ever ask for a gofundme or anything from anyone. But if you planned on coming to one of the shows and get some merch and you want to support us if possible at all, you can now grab out tour merch from indiemerch and help us resolve this financial catastrophe.

Now is the time to support the bands you love, support them by streaming their music; buying the records and merch as this will be the sole source of income for many of us for the unforeseeable future.

In the meantime we will be working on a tour to replace this one with when possible and write the next album while we are stuck at home like everyone else. Hoping all of you are safe and doing well, thank you in advance and take care of your loved ones.

Sven, Stefano, Ken, Ian & Harrison

WVRM Premiere New Song “Years Of Lead”

WVRM have premiered a new song titled “Years Of Lead.” This track is from the band’s new album “Colony Collapse,“ which will be released on April 3. Ian Nix commented:

“‘Years Of Lead‘ is about the brutality and injustice of the Neo Liberal order experienced all over the world, and the frustrations felt by its utter failure to lift up the majority. It’s presented as straight forward and heavy as possible.”

WVRM Premiere New Song “Thorn Palace”

WVRM have premiered a new song titled “Thorn Palace.” This track is from the band’s new album “Colony Collapse,“ which will be released on April 3. The group commented:

“‘Thorn Palace‘ is one of our favorite tracks on the album. It captures our long cultivated history into a fast and caustic burst that ends with pure concrete. We had a ton of fun with this one.”
