Mastodon have started the recording process for their new album. Guitarist Bill Kelliher confirmed the news on Patreon. The record will be the band’s first without guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds. Nick Johnston has been filling his spot on the road, but it is unclear if his position is permanent.
During their May 15 show at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion in Wilmington, NC, Mastodon were joined onstage by Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe for a performance of “Blood And Thunder.” You can see fan-filmed footage of that below:
