Guitarist Blake Hardman Exits Counterparts

Blake Hardman has announced his departure from Counterparts. The guitarist issued the following statement on his official Twitter account:

“I am no longer a part of Counterparts. Thank you to everyone who supported me and the records I was a large part of. The memories and friends I made playing in the band will be cherished forever. I have 4 tracks I was gonna use for the newer record that I will probably just track vocals for and post somewhere for anyone who’s interested in hearing em’.”

Counterparts Premiere New Songs “Purer Form Of Pain” & “Strings Of Separation”

Counterparts have released a new two-track single titled “Purer Form Of Pain.“ The effort comes with the title track as well as “Strings Of Separation.“ Both songs were recorded during the sessions for the band’s latest album “Nothing Left To Love.“

Brendan Murphy commented:

“One person’s trash is another person’s treasure… so here’s 2 more b-sides I guess? We wrote these songs when we were in the process of recording Nothing Left To Love and for whatever reason, they just didn’t fit the vibe of the album so we decided to cut ’em.

Since you guys seemed pretty stoked on the Private Room EP we figured why not just throw these up? At the very least, it’ll occupy like 5-10 minutes of your time… and who knows when the 5 of us will even be able to cross the border to be in the same room and record more music?

You might love them, you might think they stink, either way it’s all good by me. They’re b-sides! Who gives a shit?”

Counterparts Premiere “Paradise And Plague” Music Video

Counterparts have premiered a new video for their new song “Paradise And Plague.” This track is from the band’s new album “Nothing Left To Love,” which will be released on November 1. Brendan Murphy told Kerrang! the following:

“I’m always a fan of doing simple music videos. Partly because I think if done correctly, they’re just as effective, and also because it means we can shoot a video in a couple hours instead of a full day, and we’re all pretty lazy. I came up with the idea one day while I was driving the van on the last tour and going over ideas with Trey.”

Counterparts Premiere New Song “Wings Of Nightmares”, Announce Fall Tour

Counterparts have premiered a new song titled “Wings Of Nightmares.” This track is from their new album “Nothing Left To Love,” which will be released on November 1.

Brendan Murphy said the following about the song:

“[It’s] a no brainer first single because it’s a perfect blend of old and new Counterparts. Sounds like if we tried to rewrite a song off ‘Prophets‘ in our late 20’s. It’s one of the most ‘Counterparts‘ songs on the record if that makes sense. I think it’s got something for everyone.”

He also added the following about the album:

“I know I’ve said this for every record we’ve ever released but… ‘Nothing Left To Love‘ is best Counterparts record. I wouldn’t hold your breath for anything ground breaking, but as we grow and progress we just get better at writing Counterparts songs, and that’s all we’ve wanted to do. If you fuck with the band you’ll probably love it.”
