Bassist Dan Cunniff commented:

“For me; writing and recording ‘Be Nothing.’ was one of the most exciting things we had done at that time. Doing the ‘band thing’ for many years previous to Boston Manor, I’d always wanted to be involved in writing a full length record but never had the opportunity to do it properly. So by the time the opportunity came round, I felt like we were all hyper focused on what we wanted to achieve and also keeping in mind what this record would sound like in 10 years from that point. That being said; I think we achieved our goals with ‘Be Nothing.’ because I believe this record holds up even today 10 years on. The record did more than we thought it would do for us. It opened up so many doors, especially in the touring world. Having the opportunity to travel all around the world because of one record is pretty insane! Off the back of the release we announced Boston Manor’s first ever UK/EU headline tour (which we were shitting ourselves over btw) and to our amazement the shows all sold out. And I feel like at that point it was only the beginning for our band. be nothing. gave us the confidence that we can be a ‘real’ band after all.”

An acoustic version of “Lead Feet” can be found below. Cunniff added the following about that track:

“Standout song for me has to be ‘Lead Feet (Corner Piece).’ It was one of the first demos we made for the record and going through the process it taught us a lot about song writing and structure. We thought it’ll be a nice touch to put some lyrics in the bridge from our very first EP ‘Here/Now.’ It was a nod to how far we’ve come from recording our first EP.”
