Pearl Jam are celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Yield” with a spatial audio version of the record. The effort was produced and mixed by Josh Evans and Nick Rives.
The deluxe 25th anniversary vinyl edition of “Yield” can be pre-ordered HERE. The band said the following about that:
“Announcing the deluxe, 25th anniversary vinyl reissue of Pearl Jam’s fifth studio album, ‘Yield.’ An album that gave further promise to what Cameron Crowe called, “the flipside of the classic rock tale,” the masterfully-creative record proved the band’s best days seem to be increasingly ahead vs. behind.
Expanded to 2LP for the first time, this special edition will be pressed on 180g translucent red & black hi-melt vinyl in a heavyweight gatefold jacket and will be the inaugural pressing at VMP’s audiophile-quality pressing plant.”
VMP CEO Cameron Schaefer commented:
“Since buying my first two Pearl Jam CDs — ‘Ten’ and ‘No Code’ — at the local Hastings Bookstore in Laramie, Wyoming as a teenager, I’ve been endlessly enamored with what I consider the greatest rock band of my lifetime. To get to play even a small part in honoring their legacy through the reissue of their fifth album ‘Yield’ is an absolute highlight of my career. I’m hopeful our attention to detail and passion for the band carries through to the product and delights superfans and newcomers alike.”
As part of the 25th anniversary celebration, the band’s “Yield”-era videos have also been re-released in high definition. Their “Single Video Theory” documentary will also be available in up-rezzed high-definition.
Furthermore, the rarity “Give Way” will also be released as part of this year’s Record Store Day (April 22). It will be available on CD and 2LP gatefold black vinyl.
