Megadeth Hit With Lawsuit From “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” Cover Artist

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brent Elliott White, the man who created the cover art for Megadeth’s latest album “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!,” has filed a lawsuit against the band. The artist is accusing the group of neglecting to pay or credit him for his work.

White created the cover art for the aforementioned album, as well as additional artwork for the band’s live shows. The work was done with the assumption that he would receive compensation, but the band allegedly failed to complete a contract with the artist before the record was released.

White claims he talked to the group’s management before the first single arrived and was told that everything would be worked out shortly. However, an agreement had yet to be reached by the time the album came out.

White is suing Megadeth and UMG for copyright infringement and violation of the Freelance Isn’t Free Act in New York. He also wants the court to put an injunction on the band so they can’t continue to use his artwork. The artist is currently seeking damages and disgorgement of profits.
