Chino Moreno was recently interviewed on the Rock Show With Daniel P Carter, and during the interview he revealed that the new Deftones album is tentatively set for a September 25 release date. He also commented on the band’s upcoming full album performance of Around The Fur, at this years Amnesia Rockfest.
Here’s what he had to say about the new album:
“The record as far as music has been all recorded and I am currently working on the vocals. I’ve been recording from my home studio here in Oregon. Slowly but surely getting it done. It’s coming out really good, it’s another Deftones record, I feel like us reaching a little bit, getting more into… The song structures, trying to challenge ourselves a little bit you know what I mean? It’s sounding good, I think it’s gonna be a great record.”
Here’s what he had to say about their full album performance of Around The Fur:
“One of these festivals we’re doing “Around The Fur” in its entirety, which should be fun. It might be a little bit of a challenge, cause there’s some songs on that record that we haven’t played for years. We’ve yet to really rehearse for that. That was before I started playing guitar too so, it’s just like all I gotta do is go out there and sing for like 45 minutes. It should be pretty easy, but who’s to say.”
In other news, the band have also announced some select European dates:
11/15 Paris, FRA – Bataclan
11/18 Berlin, GER – Columbiahalle
11/19 Cologne, GER – Koln Palladium
11/21 London, UK – The SSE Arena Wembley
