Brendon Small Offers Update On New “Metalocalypse” Movie: “We’re All Knee Deep In It Right Now”
Brendon Small has shared a new update on the upcoming “Metalocalypse” movie. According to him, everyone is “knee deep in it right now.”
Small told 93.3 WMMR‘s Sara Parker the following:
“I can tell you… what has already been released, which is that we are making a feature ‘Metalocalypse’ movie, and that’s what we’re in production on right now. So we’re right in the middle of making the movie, so all the questions that were still lingering after ‘The Doomstar Requiem’ — a one-hour long rock opera special — are being answered… I don’t wanna say too much about it, but it’s a very big project. We’re all excited to be knee deep in it right now.”
He also added the following about release plans:
“That will be up to [Adult Swim] to discern. I just know that I’ve still got work to do.”
The film will premiere on Adult Swim and HBO Max before receiving a Blu-ray/DVD, TVOD, and EST release following a 90-day exclusive window. Here’s a synopsis:
“The power-hungry Tribunal unveils their secret and deadly ‘Falconback Project’ as the world grows in embattled chaos and the menacing Doomstar breaches the Earth’s atmosphere while the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of DETHKLOK. Adult Swim Announce New “Metalocalypse” Film
It looks like Dethklok fans have something to celebrate today (May 12). Adult Swim have just green-lit three new films including a new “Metalocalypse” movie. Aside from that, the network also green-lit new “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and “The Venture Bros.” movies as well. All three films will be available on video-on-demand, before heading to Adult Swim and HBO Max.
Here’s a description of each movie:
“Metalocalypse”:

With virtually everyone stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, Adult Swim have decided to stream the entire “Metalocalypse” series for free. You can watch it HERE and on their official app.
“Metalocalypse” Director Jon Schnepp Passes Away
“Metalocalypse”, etc. director Jon Schnepp has sadly passed away at the age of 51. This news comes after he was previously placed on life support after suffering a “catastrophic stroke” on July 12. You can help out his family with medical costs by donating via GoFundMe.
Schnepp’s fiancé Holly Payne said the following:
“It is with a broken heart that the Schnepp family and I must announce the passing of our beloved Jon Schnepp, who died peacefully on July 19, 2018.
Jon ultimately succumbed to the effects of a massive stroke. He had a blood clot removed from his left carotid artery, but the bleeding could not be stopped. Irreparable and catastrophic damage was caused to both hemispheres and all brain activity ceased. His sister Deborah and I had to make the difficult decision to take him off of life support. There was no possible way for him to recover. Please understand.
I spent the last hour of his life with him holding him, laying my head across his massive chest, kissing him, stroking his hair, playing his favorite songs, and telling him over and over again how much I love him.
My life has been forever changed by Jon. I feel endlessly grateful to have shared 16 years of laughter, love and incredible adventures together, including the making a feature film, as well as a television series that I hope to complete and release later this year in his honor.
Jon’s mother Miriam, his father David, his sister Deborah and I are devastated beyond measure. We appreciate your love and support, and most importantly your understanding of our privacy at this time as we grieve.

“Metalocalypse” Director Jon Schnepp Is On Life Support Following A “Catastrophic Stroke”
“Metalocalypse” Director Jon Schnepp In Critical Condition
“Metalocalypse” director Jon Schnepp is currently unconscious and hospitalized in critical condition due to an undisclosed medical condition. A GoFundMe has been launched to help cover medical expenses.
Schnepp’s partner Holly Payne commented:
“Friends, Jon Schnepp is unconscious and in critical condition. I cannot tell you the details, but it is life-threatening. That’s all I can tell you right now. I have been sharing with him how much all of you are rallying for him, and showing your incredible love & support. I’ve been sitting vigilantly beside him and whispering “I love you Chimpnugget” over and over again in his ear, resting my head on his huge chest. This is the most challenging experience of my life, but knowing he is so loved helps heal my fractured heart. All of your well wishes have not gone unnoticed. If you can contribute anything to his medical bills, that will help us both. Much love to all of you. -Holly”

Brendon Small Asks Fans To Help Give Metalocalypse A Proper Send Off
Metalocalypse’s Brendon Small has started a campaign, that he is calling Metalocalypse Now, to help give the series a proper send off. Fans who want to support the cause can sign a petition at metalocalypsenow.com, to help get a series finale streaming on Hulu.
Small issued the following statement:
“Metalocalypse, to this day, has a ridiculously strong viewership. The show has become a part of the metal community and we want to give the fans an opportunity to demand what is rightfully theirs!”
If the campaign succeeds, it will be the show’s first new episode since the 2013 special, Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem.
