Nirvana will be receiving the Video Vanguard Award at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. The event will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA on September 27. The decision to honor a rock band is somewhat ironic considering the “Best Rock” category was recently removed from the ceremony.
