As previously reported, Slipknot recently confirmed the departure of DJ Sid Wilson. However, when TMZ initially broke the news, guitarist Jim Root told fans not to believe everything they read. Now, he has apparently walked back on that statement.

Root said the following:
“You couldn’t even believe what I wrote. At the time I wrote it… I didn’t know what to believe. I stand by it though. I still don’t think anyone should believe everything that they read. Time will tell. As it did for my post that didn’t age well.”
Notably, Stacy Thomson, the wife of guitarist Mick Thomson, also made similar comments about not believing what your read. She has since responded to questions about that statement as well:
“oh stop it wasn’t true when TMZ posted it. And I assure you the guys ALL always give chances.”
The reasons for Wilson’s firing are still unknown. However, TMZ suggested it was related to “the way he treated his bandmates.” Wilson has seemingly been facing allegations from his former fiancé Kelly Osbourne as well. The turntablist has yet comment.
