The group commented:

“This EP is another step forward in refining our sound. There are four of us, and we are all different people, some with different tastes in music. We have collected these influences and combined them on the new EP. When we listened to the master tracks, we were blown away by this wall of music that just overwhelms you. We are extremely proud of what we have done and can’t wait to hear what people think of it.

For this release, we wanted to try a fresh approach. We’re rolling out the songs one by one, like episodes of a TV series dropping week by week. The entire project tells one connected story that unfolds from the very first track all the way to the final one. To bring each chapter to life visually, we’ve decided to create a full music video for every song.

This EP differs greatly from previous albums in terms of songwriting. We incorporated more elements and refined them to make it what it is. It’s different, but it’s still Castiel. It’s heavier and more brutal than what we’ve done before, yet more emotional. As a band, we’ve matured with this EP and we hope you can hear that in it.

Paul and Georg are real World of Warcraft nerds, and we had already been heavily influenced by the background stories of various characters and themes in the game. This EP is about the relationship between two protagonists who also become main characters over time. In the game, you hear or play through the story of Arthas, but how did it all turn out for Jaina? Despite the influence, the lyrics are not directly linked to WoW, but as a nerd, you hear the connections, and as a non-gamer, you hear the journey through a relationship.

We love to combine a lot of different styles of heavy music ranging from varied influences from bands like Black Tongue, Humanity’s Last Breath, Bodysnatcher and Acacia Strain. On one side you can expect really slow and low tuned guitar riffs and breakdowns with a lot of dark atmosphere, but on the other side we offer parts with fast riffs and crushing drums. There’s literally something here for everyone who is a heavy music fan and we love to bring the brutality.”
