According to The Hollywood Reporter, Slash (Guns N’ Roses) is credited as an executive producer on the new documentary “Black Zombie.” The film traces the origins of zombies from Haitian folklore to movies and it will debut at South By Southwest in Austin, TX.

Here’s a synopsis:
“From the flickering screens of Hollywood horror, to the haunted cane fields of colonial Haiti, “Black Zombie” unearths the buried origins of the zombie, reclaiming it as a symbol of survival and spiritual resistance.”
Slash commented:
“I’ve always believed horror reflects the fears and truths buried in society. ‘Black Zombie’ uncovers the real origins behind one of horror’s most iconic figures, and I’m proud to help bring that story forward.”
Director Maya Annik Bedward added:
“Slash’s lifelong love of horror and his respect for Vodou make him an incredible partner in helping bring this history to a wider audience.”
Slash will also appear in the film alongside Yves-Grégory Francois, Anderson Mojica, Erol Josué, Tom Savini, and Zandashé Brown. Here’s the South By Southwest public screening schedule:
