HEAVENSGATE have premiered a new video for their new song “PETRICHOR.” This track is from the band’s new EP, “A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN,” which will be released on October 24. That effort will be followed by a new compilation album, titled “ANGEL HYMNS,” on November 14.
The group said the following about the single:
”’PETRICHOR’ is an exciting release for us, there’s a lot behind it with the announcement of the forthcoming EP and tours. We feel that this song helps bridge the gap between some of our older material that fans grew fond of whilst introducing them to a fresh take on those ideas. We’ve grown a lot as a band and so have our tastes, this single perfectly encapsulates that and shows how much our sound has matured. The music video that accompanies ‘PETRICHOR’ helped take the narrative aspects of this song to a whole new level which we hope the listener appreciates just as much as us.”
They also added the following about the EP:
“’A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN’ really is the sum of its parts, it’s our collective experiences as band weaved into a story that is heartfelt and resonates deeply with us, which we hope in turn our listeners can appreciate. It’s always a little nerve-racking putting a body of work out there which has this much variety, but we’re proud to showcase this next step in the band. The video which accompanies the release ‘A FAWN FLAYED’ is something we’re excited to share. A one-take video which we had no intentions of shooting but everything came together perfectly on the first shot. We felt that it was the best statement piece for the band which encapsulates this release.”
