Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has slammed Kanye West for allegedly sampling a live version of “Iron Man” on a new song without permission. The track in question was played during a listening party for West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new album “Vultures” and it included audio from Osbourne’s solo set at the 1983 US Festival. The frontman said the following about the unauthorized sample:
“Kanye West ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IRON MAN” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!”
