Earlier today (February 26), Avenged Sevenfold fans were left upset after they seemingly dropped off the upcoming Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals. However, it has since been revealed that hackers allegedly hijacked the band’s “Trax” podcast and made the announcement in M. Shadows’ voice. They also allegedly posted about the cancellations on the group’s social media accounts. Considering the lengths the supposed hackers went to, some have been speculating that this may have just been a publicity stunt ahead of an announcement regarding the band’s new album. Those claims are unconfirmed at the moment, but the band do have a history of faking out fans as part of teaser campaigns, so it is plausible. For now, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
