System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian and Dethklok‘s Brendon Small, Bryan Beller, and Gene Hoglan (also of Testament) have joined forces for a new cover of Blue Öyster Cult‘s “Godzilla.“ The track was recorded for the new movie “Godzilla: King Of Monsters,” which will hit theaters on May 31. The soundtrack will be released earlier on May 24. Tankian commented:
“Surprise!! So my friend composer Bear McCreary calls last year and says “I have a crazy idea-would you sing on the cover of Blue Öyster Cult’s Godzilla for the film “Godzilla-King of the Monsters?” Fuck yeah!!!!!! The track features a full orchestra, Japanese Taiko drums, a male chanting choir and the thrashing rock sounds of Dethklok (Brendon Small, Gene Hoglan, and Bryan Beller) from Metalocalypse…”
