During some recent live streams on Twitch, Trivium’s Matt Heafy covered Death Cab For Cutie‘s “I Will Follow You Into The Dark,“ Megadeth‘s “Sweating Bullets,“ Halestorm‘s “Heart Of Novocaine,” and UB40‘s “Red Red Wine” (multiple styles). Heafy said the following about the Death Cab For Cutie cover, which is particularly meaningful to him:

“Death Cab For Cutie’s “Plans” album is a very significant one for Miyuki, Ashley, and I. It’s one we’ve listened to for years together at home, traveling, and being abroad. Plans was an album we had playing during labor and delivery as well – marking a very happy moment. ‘I will follow you into the dark’ is also the first song I played after having to put our beloved dog, Miyuki down due to osteo-sarcoma bone-cancer. Needless to say, I lost it. This song helped me ring out all the emotions so I could get back home and be strong for my wife and twins. Thank you to Death Cab for such an important album for the Heafy family – in times of good and bad. Long live Miyuki.”
