Halestorm recently appeared on Eddie Trunk’s SiriusXM show “Trunk Nation”, and frontwoman Lzzy Hale confirmed that their new album is “almost done.” Guitarist Joe Hottinger added that they “only have, like, two weeks left on it — just some vocals and candy stuff,” which will be completed after their tour with Stone Sour. Hottinger also said it is “the heaviest stuff [they’ve] ever done” with Hale adding: “We just don’t like staying in the same lane, because, as you know, album cycles for rock right now, it’s, like, three years is one album cycle, and you’re a whole different person than you were in the beginning of it. So it’s really hard for us to go back, so we just keep moving forward.” Hottinger went on to say producer Nick Raskulinecz pushed them to be more collaborative and that they were creating songs just by jamming in a room together. Hale also mentioned that Raskulinecz took drummer Arejay Hale to “a whole other level,” and that “sonically, [she] think[s] it’s gonna be the first time that you can actually hear what everybody brings to the table in [their] band instead of it just being kind of, like, ‘Oh, okay, Lzzy sings and there’s something going on in the background.'” The effort is expected to be released later this year.
