Members of Papa Roach recently offered their choices for the best nü-metal song in a new video. Among the tracks mentioned were their own “Last Resort,” Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” Korn’s “Blind,” and Deftones’ “My Own Summer (Shove It).”
The musicians said the following:
Singer Jacoby Shaddix:
“I’d be biased and say ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roach, but I’ll give it to Limp Bizkit ‘Break Stuff.‘”
Bassist Tobin Esperance:
“I dont know. Probably like ‘Blind’ or something, Korn. The first time I heard that opening intro to ‘Blind’ I was like, ‘Oh shit, this is something that I haven’t heard before.’”
Drummer Tony Palermo:
“I know Deftones don’t like to be coined as nü-metal, but ‘Shove It‘ is up there.”
Guitarist Jerry Horton:
“I mean it’s gotta be ‘Last Resort.’
