Slipknot are teasing something via 742617000027.net. Fans that visit the mysterious website are greeted with the phrase “Worse forwards than backwards” and a box to enter a code. Notably, those that type in “comeplaydying” are presented with artwork from the band’s self-titled era and a countdown timer that will end on July 21.
The following message is displayed for wrong codes:
“You have nothing to contribute so stay the fuck out.”
A separate message is displayed for the right code:
“Intrusion Detected.
You are being observed.
By continuing, you consent to:
Your actions being tracked
Your data being harvested
And your identity being marked for future contact.
You also agree to immediate ownership and full responsibility for the contents of the box — should it find you.”
It is unclear what the group are teasing. However, the imagery has led many to speculate that it could be related to the upcoming 25th anniversary edition of the band’s self-titled album. Release details for that are still pending.
