Deep Purple will be releasing a 20th anniversary edition of “Rapture Of The Deep” on August 29. The expanded effort has been remixed/remastered and it will be available on CD Digipak, digital, 3LP black 180-gram vinyl, and limited-edition 3LP transparent sky-blue vinyl formats.

Bassist Roger Glover reflected on that time period:
“We were going through a bit of a hard time when we started the songwriting and production of ‘Rapture of the Deep’ and strangely enough, we didn’t have a record company at that point. Let’s face it, we were a bit lost.”
Glover worked on the new mix and the analog-master at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, Germany to bring new life to the record. He says to him “it’s a new album now.”
