Cryptodira have premiered a new video for their new song “The Same River Twice.” This track is from the band’s new EP “Genesis Of Error,” which will be released on July 25.
The group commented:
Guitarist/vocalist Scott Acquavella:
“To anyone who ever said that our songs are too long, we’ve finally got one for you! Full credit to [producers] Greg Thomas and Chris Teti for pushing us to throw caution to the wind and go all gas, no brakes on ‘…Same River…’ because this track is like a shot in the arm every time we play it.”
Guitarist/vocalist Mike Monaco:
“I think there’s a desire from all of us to push the band outside of its comfort zone, but ‘The Same River Twice’ feels like one of the first times we’ve actually done it. Everyone who worked on the EP helped assist with this track – a real nice tic-tac-toe play.”
Drummer Matthew Taibi:
“‘The Same River Twice‘ as a title was chosen off the old epigram of Heraclitus: ‘One cannot step in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and themselves not the same person.’ The motion of this song captures that idea of ceaseless change; despite it being the shortest song we’ve written, it is relentless.”
Bassist Vincent Romanelli:
“I’ve been a friend and fan of the band for over ten years, and this new EP is their best work. When Matt showed me ‘…Same River…’ for the first time, it blew me away to the point where I convinced him to let me play bass in the band. For only three songs, this EP shows such a great range of what Cryptodira can do. It’s dialed in and it’s a great representation of what’s to come from the band. The future is bright and I’m excited to be a part of it”
