Knocked Loose’s Bryan Garris has taken to social media to comment on the band’s Grammy nomination for “Suffocate” (feat. Poppy). The frontman expressed gratitude for the honor, while remaining humble about the group’s success.

Garris said the following:
“February 2015, somewhere in Ohio. Pacsun’s second tour with the band. Crashed on someone’s floor and ended up with this blow up doll that we would put merch on. Touring back then was a constant mystery. Are we showing up to a venue or a house? Are we going to get paid? Can I afford to get two cookout trays so I can have a meal after the show? Will our van even make it to the show?
Next weekend we will be at the Grammys. Obviously this was never in our sights. You shouldn’t start a band to win a Grammy. You should start a band so you can take an adventure with your friends. See new places, experience different cultures. Everything that I’ve learned through touring has put me here. Honored to be recognized on such a massive stage like the Grammys. But I would still sleep on this floor if I had to. I love this.”
As previously reported, the ceremony will take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA on February 2. The other rock/metal nominees can be found HERE.
