Vampires Everywhere! have premiered a new video for their new song “Antichrist.” This track is from the band’s newly released album “The Devil Made Me Do It.”
Frontman Michael Vampire commented:
“For the last 24 years I’ve been riding the wave of the ‘Music Industry’ and trying to navigate my way through all of its insane trials and tribulations. However, I always find myself swimming in dark uncharted waters that I need to overcome in order to carry on as an artist. It’s extremely hard to run a band; let alone triumph in an industry run by major record labels and inside tastemakers. Vampires Everywhere! has always been the ‘outcast’ band and many people to this day still don’t understand exactly what we are or where we fit. The confusion leads to chaos and in the chaos I emerge as this demonic figure misunderstood and shunned for being insanely different. I am an extremely blunt person and in an industry where kissing ass may help your career, I choose to remain steadfast and not bow down to industry norms. I became the ‘Antichrist’ of the industry. I need my fans to know that being different and extremely honest can lead them to the holy land; meaning success and personal satisfaction. I am not going anywhere and refuse to stop being an artist and being completely genuine. The song is my ode to being myself. I never wrote about my personal struggles with this topic and it feels liberating to finally lay it on wax.”
He also added:
“I wanted more than anything to have a collective body of work of all my little successes over the last year. I needed to feel something. I needed fans to have something that they could be proud of owning and listening to over and over again. So after many weed induced dreams I came to the conclusion that I needed to collect my favorite songs and put them together to create one master version. However, being the OCD nut that I am, I could not be happy enough with just that! I had some lyrics in me that I needed to get out.. thus creating ‘Antichrist’ and ‘Another Funeral Song’ which in my opinion completes the story I’m trying to tell. Because this idea spawned from within my dreams it was only right to name it ‘The Devil Made Me Do It.’”
