Zahna has signed a new deal with XOVR Records, the label launched by Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and his manager David W. Williams. With this news, she has also shared a lyric video for her new single “Pile Of Pills”:
Zahna commented:
“‘Pile Of Pills‘ was written when I was in a chaotic state of survival from 2019-2021. Coming off the heels of an organ failure diagnosis, following a kidney transplant, and then diving into the following years of the pandemic as an immunocompromised individual, it felt like death was always around the corner. Not only was I fighting the physical aspect of dying, but I had so much financial stress, medical bills, and music industry trauma. My body, heart, and mind, and spirit were just so sick.
Anything I did or tried to do just felt like buying time until I had no recourse left, and I never knew when I was going to exit the survival cycle. It truly felt like life circumstances were just squeezing my willpower to live anymore and death was always on my doorstep.
Years of darkness and hardship can change someone fundamentally, but I am so blessed to have made it out alive despite all of the challenges. ‘Pile Of Pills‘ is for anyone just trying to survive. The poverty and chronic illness cycle is absolutely vicious, but please don’t give up, even if it takes years. I’m still healing from those turbulent times, and I hope this track can help you scream your lungs out and release all of the anger, pain, and hopelessness. You will make it out.”
Welch added:
“I am always so mesmerized by a vocalist who has incredible power, incredible range, melody, tone, and on top of all that, having the strength to be so vulnerable to share such an intense health crisis experience with the world, while still dealing with the raw emotions and trauma from it. It melts my heart, man. It touches my soul. I am a huge fan of Zahna for many reasons, and I am confident you will be too.”
