According to Day FR Euro, NinjA Cyborg have filed a lawsuit against Rammstein for plagiarism. They made the move after discovering similarities between their 2018 track “The Sunny Road” and Rammstein’s 2019 track “Deutschland.”

NinjA Cyborg filed the complaint with the Paris Court of Appeal after a previous claim was dismissed in 2021. The appeal was made after “music expert” Richard Dubugnon found that Rammstein “intentionally borrowed the riff and other melodic elements” from “The Sunny Road.” He said the plagiarism case was valid because “Deutschland” contained “too many similarities” to that track.
Notably, fans previously tried to accuse NinjA Cyborg of plagiarism despite the fact that their song was released before Rammstein’s. This led NinjA Cyborg to the discovery of the alleged plagiarism and inspired them to take legal action. NinjA Cyborg told Le Nouvel Obs the following:
“We want this piece to be recognized as ours and that we no longer spend our lives as artists perpetually justifying ourselves.”
The Intellectual Property Chamber of the Paris Judicial Court will be hearing the case in September.
