During their January 24 show in Paris, France, Architects’ Sam Carter addressed the recent controversy regarding a controversial repost from guitarist Adam Christianson. The vocalist said “no one on this stage judges anybody for their gender, their race, and whoever they are in love with.”

As previously reported, the controversy stemmed from a post shared by Christianson. The tweet was from right-wing political commentator Tim Pool and it showed support for MMA fighter Sean Strickland, a divisive figure who has generated controversy with his misogynistic, anti-trans, and conspiracy theory beliefs. The guitarist ultimately claimed the repost was an “accident,” but as fans have pointed out, the musician has liked other posts featuring anti-trans content. However, Carter has since made it clear that the band don’t stand for that kind of intolerance:
“No one on this stage judges anybody for their gender, their race, and whoever they are in love with. We never have, we never will. That is not what this band stands for. And that is not what this band will ever stand for. We love every single one of you.”
Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante also made similar comments during their opening set. According to a tweet from a fan, she said the following:
“Bigots are not welcome here, homophobes are not welcome here and transphobes are not welcome here”
LaPlante previously commented via social media, but faced the wrath of Falling In Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke, who is seemingly bitter about Spiritbox dropping off a Falling In Reverse tour due to his controversial past. As such, he has since responded to her latest statement:

He then went on to say “WHEN WILL THE PANDERING STOP,” before adding the following in a separate tweet:
“If you gotta constantly talk about not being homophobic transphobic or a bigot as a band you are pandering, exploiting sexuality for your own benefit. The reality is most people arent homophobic or transphobic, so when I see bands constantly using it as a talking point it immediately shows me they can’t be trusted.”
