Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon Says Morgan Rose’s Recent Comments Regarding The Band’s “End Date” Were “Taken Out Of Context”

During a new interview with 99 Rock WKSM, Sevendust singer Lajon Witherspoon discussed the recent comments drummer Morgan Rose made about the band’s possible “end date.” According to him, the things Rose said were “taken out of context.”

Witherspoon said the following:

“I guess one day we are [retiring], but it’s not anytime soon. I think that got taken out of context in an interview with Morgan.”

He also added the following about a Blabbermouth article regarding Rose’s comments:

“I got a phone call early in the morning about, ‘What’s going on?’ My kids are crying. They’re, like, ‘Daddy, you didn’t tell us.’ I’m, like, ‘What are you talking about?.’

I love Blabbermouth, but, yeah, that was kind of taken out of context. We’re still here. We’re kicking, man.”

This news comes shortly after guitarist John Connolly clarified Rose’s comments, saying that the group are just planning to “move into a different model.”
