Earlier today (June 13), Metallica’s Lars Ulrich was honored with the Ærespris (Honorary Award) during this year’s Carl Prisen at Axelborgsalen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The award includes 30,000 Danish kroner (about $4,200), which the drummer donated to the Danish Songwriting Academy. Ulrich, who attended the ceremony with producer Flemming Ramsussen, was honored for his role in Metallica’s lawsuit against Napster and his compositional work in the band.
