During Metallica and Miley Cyrus’ recent appearance on “The Howard Stern Show”, the group were joined by Elton John via video link. John was brought on the program to discuss his guest spot on Cyrus’ cover of “Nothing Else Matters”, which is featured on the new “Black Album” tribute record “The Metallica Blacklist.” John says it was a “no-brainer” to contribute to the track, while also adding:
“This is one of the best songs ever written, to me. It’s a song that never gets old. Playing on this track I just couldn’t wait because the chord structure, the melodies, the time changes — it’s got drama written all over it.”
Notably, John’s kind words actually moved Metallica frontman James Hetfield to tears.
