A new biopic focusing on Heart is currently in the works. The movie will be written and directed by Carrie Brownstein and produced for Amazon by Lynda Obst.
Ann Wilson said the following about the biopic during an interview with Lyndsey Parker on SiriusXM’s “Volume West”:
“I can’t tell you all about it, because it’s still being written right now. I saw the first draft of [Brownstein’s] script, and it’s really cool.”
She went on to say that “a few actresses have come forward” to play her and her sister Nancy, but “no one that’s right.” She continued: “But it’s known that the role of Nancy and the role of me is now being cast.” One actress interested in playing Ann was Anne Hathaway, but Wilson said she doesn’t “think she’s exactly right for it.”
She also added the following when asked if the lead actresses will actually sing or lip-sync:
“I’m really not sure. That’s still in development right now. Because of COVID, it slowed everything down. But it’s definitely coming along.”
