Van Halen’s Manager Confirms The Band Were Close To Reuniting With Michael Anthony For A 2019 Stadium Tour

In late 2018, there were rumors circulating that seemed to suggest that Van Halen were planning to reunite with bassist Michael Anthony for a 2019 summer stadium tour. Now, during an interview with Pollstar, the band’s manager Irving Azoff confirmed that the trek came close to happening and that Metallica and Foo Fighters were tentatively set to join the group on select dates. However, the massive tour never materialized due to the late Eddie Van Halen’s health issues. Azoff said the following:

“We had lots of stops and starts, but there was every intention of doing a summer stadium tour [in 2019], and as the cancer moved around, [Van Halen] was physically unable to do it. There is no doubt in my mind that it would have been massive”
