On the day of Dolores O’Riordan’s death (January 15, 2018), the singer was planning to hit the studio to record guest vocals for Bad Wolves’ cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” Sadly, that never ended up happening, so the band decided to release the track on January 19, 2018 and donate the proceeds to O’Riordan’s children. However, during a recent interview with ABC Audio, The Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan said that he felt that the track was released too soon: “I think it was a bit too soon. For my liking, anyway.” Drummer Fergal Lawler also added that he “didn’t really like it” and that “the whole thing seemed insensitive or something.” Despite this, Hogan did say that he wished no “ill will” towards Bad Wolves.
