Cannibal Corpse’s Pat O’Brien Arrested For Burglary & Assault As Ammo Explodes Inside His Burning Home

UPDATE: O’Brien has now made an appearance in court.

Original Story:

Last night (December 10), Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien was arrested near his Northdale, Florida home for burglary and aggravated assault on an officer.

According to abcactionnews.com, the 53-year-old reportedly broke into a Northdale home at around 6:57 PM while two people were inside. After the musician was told to leave, he pushed down one of the victims and ran into the backyard. Authorities found O’Brien hiding near a fence and they used an electronic control device to disarm him after he ran towards a deputy with a knife.

Oddly, O’Brien‘s Northdale home was also on fire at the time of the incident. Hillsborough County firefighters say their was military-style flamethrowers and exploding ammunition inside the house, making it harder to put out. The guitarist was apparently trying to get away from his burning house when responders arrived. He was arrested less than .5 miles away.

This news comes just one day after Cannibal Corpse announced a North American tour with Slayer.
