A Fragment Of Late Mayhem Vocalist Per “Dead” Ohlin’s Skull Was Recently Up For Sale

A piece of late Mayhem vocalist Per “Dead” Ohlin’s skull recently went up for sale via Serial Killers Ink, along with a letter that late Mayhem founder Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth sent to manager and label rep Tamas Vamosi five days after Dead’s suicide. Euronymous infamously photographed Dead’s body and collected fragments of his skull after finding him. He then sent the skull pieces to people he considered to be “true.” The letter ends with the oddly causal statement: “OK! That should be all. I’m enclosing a little piece from Dead’s cranium in case you’d like to have it. Hear from you soon!” The morbid collectible was available for $3,500, but has since gone out of stock, so it appears someone was crazy enough to buy it.
