Did New York Times Magazine Rip Off Dream Theater’s New Album Cover?

As a fan pointed out on Twitter, the artwork on The New York Times Magazine’s “The Tech & Design Issue” is very similar to the cover art on Dream Theater’s new album “Distance Over Time“ (out February 22). The band have since tweeted out the two images side by side as well. However, the magazine’s Design Director, Gail Bichler has denied the accusations of plagiarism. It’s also worth noting that a rep for the band said they actually used a modified stock image for the cover, so The New York Times Magazine most likely did the same.
