Chris Cornell’s Widow Reportedly Files Malpractice Suit Against His Doctor

According to TMZ, Vicky Cornell, the widow of Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, etc.), has filed a malpractice suit against Dr. Robert Koblin due to him allegedly prescribing Chris 940 doses of the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam (aka Ativan) and doses of Oxycodone during the last 20 months of his life. The suit goes on to say that Koblin was writing prescriptions without re-examining Chris, despite the fact that he had history of addiction. It also says Lorazepam can lead to impaired judgment and increased suicide risks in those that are prone to addiction and that Koblin did not warn Chris about the increased risk of suicidal thoughts. Vicky and her children are seeking unspecified damages in the case. Chris died on May 18, 2017 as a result of suicide.
