Even though Black Sabbath wrapped up their final tour last year, the idea of the band reuniting for one-off shows has continued to be a topic of discussion. Now, Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi have both shown interest in playing the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Osbourne told ITV News that it “would be fantastic” to perform at the opening ceremony “with Black Sabbath or on [his] own.” As for Iommi, Birmingham Mail are reporting that the guitarist said the following when he was asked about the idea: “I think that it would be a great thing to do to help represent Birmingham. I’m up for it! Let’s see what happens!” Fans will just have to wait and see if the group decides to return.
