Tool Reportedly Plan To Release A New Video This Year

Danny Carey keeps saying Tool’s new album will be released in 2018, but even if it doesn’t happen, fans can still expect a new video release this year. Visual effects artist, etc. Dominic Hailstone (‘Alien: Covenant‘, etc.) was recently interviewed by Yutani.blog and said he worked on a new Tool video that should be out this year. It is assumed that he is referring to a clip for the new version of “Opiate”, which Adam Jones previously revealed Hailstone worked on.

Hailstone said the following when asked what his favorite project has been:

“A video for Tool that should be coming out later this year. Adam Jones gave me complete artistic freedom so the only constraint was the budget, we had a lot of fun figuring that out. Other than that Alien Covenant as I was working with friends I hadn’t seen in over 15 years. That was special.”

As previously reported, Maynard James Keenan said Tool’s new album won’t be released this summer, but Jones has confirmed the music is done for the effort, so a 2018 release is still possible.
