The 57th Grammy Awards took place tonight (February 08), at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. In a stunning disappointment, Tenacious D won the Best Metal Performance for their cover of Dio’s “The Last In Line.”

Anthrax – “Neon Knights” (Black Sabbath cover)
Mastodon – “High Road”
Motörhead – “Heartbreaker”
Slipknot – “The Negative One”
Tenacious D – “The Last In Line” (Dio cover)
The fact that Tenacious D won over Slipknot, Mastodon, Motörhead and Anthrax makes it seem like Metallica vs. Jethro Tull all over again. At least rockers still have the Revolver Golden Gods.
