During My Chemical Romance’s October 21 show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, the band were joined onstage by some cheerleaders wearing uniforms similar to ones used by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The performers appeared onstage during “Teenagers” and later returned to “save” the band from some “armed gunmen.” The production has since caught the attention of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders owner Pro Silver Star Ltd., who are now seeking legal action against the band.

The company commented:
“Audience members and online commentators understandably believed that the performers were the real Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and said so in social media posts that continue to circulate.”
“Silver Star is not litigious, and it takes no issue with MCR’s music, its artistic ambitions, or any message Defendants seek to convey. Silver Star does not ask Defendants to change their setlist, narrative, politics, choreography, or even their decision to put gun-toting performers on stage. Silver Star asks only that those performers not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it. The universe of alternative costume designs is effectively unlimited.”
Despite the new complaint, My Chemical Romance brought the cheerleaders onstage again during an October 23 show at the same venue.
