If Not For Me have premiered a new song titled “Novocaine.” The track, which features Catch Your Breath frontman Josh Mowery, is from the band’s new album, “Where The Light Begins To Fade,” which will be released on August 18.
Vocalist Patrick Glover commented:
“I wrote ‘Novocaine’ about the people in our lives that we’ve lost because they just couldn’t let us in. It’s about the loved ones that so desperately needed help but kept us at arms length. It’s about longing to be whatever you need to be in order to save somebody, but they won’t ever let you. There’s not a more helpless feeling than watching someone you care so much about come apart at the seams while knowing there’s nothing you can do about it. ‘You were the fire I can’t contain, so strike the matches, spread the ashes at my feet.’”
He also added:
“‘Novocaine’ is one of those songs that I feel like can have a different interpretation or meaning depending on what you need out of it. On the surface it may feel like a love song, and it absolutely is, but I had a bit of a deeper/darker intention with it.”
