On December 6, KISS were presented with their Kennedy Center Honors medallions by U.S. president Donald Trump. Original members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss were all in attendance to accept their awards. The late Ace Frehley was also honored with his daughter Monique accepting the award on his behalf. Trump commented:
“The members of the incredible rock band KISS: Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley — who now is resting in peace, and his beautiful daughter is here to accept the award. Thank you very much. Thank you for being here.”
