Omnivide Premiere “Void” Music Video

Omnivide have premiered a new video for their new song “Void.” This track is from the band’s new EP “Arise,” which will be released on October 10.

The group commented:

“Our new ‘Arise‘ EP is a major evolution from our debut album, ‘A Tale of Fire‘, as we took the elements we loved most from that first release and cranked them up another level. We really wanted to outdo ourselves on this one and we all felt ready to make something better in a shorter time frame. People can expect more techy riffs, bigger orchestral arrangements, more progressive song structures and more clean singing to complement the harsh vocals. The EP also has a lot of ups and downs in intensity, going from all-out brutal riffs to chilled-out, subdued clean sections throughout each song.

The first single, ‘Void,’ was also the first song that began to take shape at the beginning of the writing process for this EP, so it has a lot of the foundational characteristics that inspired the rest of the tracks. It has technical riffs, a contrast of high intensity and laid-back sections, orchestral arrangements, a mix of harsh and clean vocals and a crushing guitar solo.

Overall, it encapsulates our intentions with the music for this EP, which is why we choose it as a lead single. It also has the most direct link to the lyrical theme of the EP, being about overcoming inner limitations and external adversity in life’s most dire situations.

It vividly expresses the desperation felt in times of seemingly insurmountable struggle, the refusal to give up no matter how badly the odds are stacked against us and the growth that takes place when one chooses to face such challenges. The video is really focused on the performances of each band member, highlighting the flashy and technical playing that occurs throughout the song.

Lyrically, the main theme of the EP is that of overcoming one’s internal limitations in the face of adversity and the self-growth that results from that process. We all face moments in our lives when the odds seem stacked against us, and the tendency to want to give up can seem tempting in those moments for the immediate relief it provides.

However, pushing through these difficult phases is what leads to better outcomes for ourselves both internally and externally, and the lyrics of the album explore this process in various ways throughout the EP.

We think people should give this EP a chance if they’re fans of technical, yet melodic music that is not afraid to be different and take creative risks. We really pushed ourselves on our individual instruments for these songs, and they’re certainly not lacking in flashy moments.

However, there are also some slower/cleaner sections to contrast the heavier parts, which is why we think prog fans should really give it a listen. For better or for worse, we believe that this EP has a unique sound and we hope that it will be a refreshing listen to those who chose to check it out.”
